Why didn't the machines just invent fusion batteries?
>>
I think it's implied somewhere that the machines didn't really need the humans. It was more of a vanity project.

Clearly bit them in the ass.
>>
>>82463787
Machines cannot invent.
>>
Because if you watched Animatrix, it's suggested that the machines were being merciful by not running humanity into extinction, but instead cresting a symbiotic relationship where the machines create a virtual world for the humans, and the humans heat source is used. It's inefficient to, say, fusion. But it's more "moral".

Considering the level of abuse the machines were receiving at the hands of humans, it was surprisingly generous.
>>
>>82463787
the machines wanted to evolve humanity, the powersource crap was just an excuse.

Remember there were at least 2 levels to the Matrix, taking the red pill only wakes you up to the first

Why would you keep your enemy alive if you knew they where trying to kill you?
>>
>>82464001
Yes.
>>
>>82464031
I dunno, why did we provide the citizens of Germany with food packages despite them unleashing a war that destroyed 70 million lives? It's humanity, I suppose. Ironically it was the machines who were exemplifying it more, in their own somewhat twisted way.
>>
>>82463916
>Considering the level of abuse the machines were receiving at the hands of humans

Machines aren't sentinent. There is nothing to imply machines can ever be sentinent unless they are made sentinent.

You would have to be an incredibly complex organism to ever be sentinent. The majority of animals aren't sentinent, they are just impulse controlled lesser beings.

A computer that is formed ground up by man can be made to feel nothing, only to preserve itself. Giving a machine feelings is entirely intentional and requires immense effort.
>>
>>82463787

I read somewhere that it was originally supposed to be using human minds as RAM but the average moviegoer at the time wasn't techie enough to grok that so they made them batteries instead.
>>
Daily reminder that the machines were evil and killed their human allies
>>
They were originally using the computing power in our brains, but test audiences are retarded so they changed it to batteries.
>>
because the wachoski brothers originally wanted the humans to be used as processors for the AI's super computer. the matrix was just a screen saver that kept the CPUmans occupied.

yet that was risking a lawsuit from someone that already wrote a story using humans as CPUs.

so they changed it to make the humans into an energy source.

Why didnt they just use water power, nuclear power, fossil fuels, wind power, solar panels on mountains or solar panels flying on those anti gravity pods above clouds?

Never post on this board again

It's more like keeping your abusive parents on life support.

They're still your parents.

We also did that to improve the European economy to stop the Soviets.

They invented anti gravity.

In Animatrix they build up an AnCap city where they invented all kind of shit and blew up the world economy which was one reason for the war.

stop posting

>>82463860
I think it was because they still have the laws programmed in them to protect humanity, so the best solution they came up to the conflict was to preserve humanity in an fake alternative reality. They even said they wanted to make the Matrix heaven
>They dont feel a desire for revenge
>They are just acting out their routine endlessly

Because the Soviets were the real threat and were about to wash over the Eurasian continent with war?

Furthermore, it gave the US economy an excuse to jumpstart the greatest production/export economy the world had ever seen up to that point creating the greatest middle class of all time.

Lastly Ill add that the "citizens of Germany" didnt unleash a war. It was the French/British governments who declared war onto Nazi Germany, despite the Soviets ALSO INVADING POLAND AT THE SAME TIME.

So dont give me that revisionist bullshit. The entente wanted war. They got war. They started that war to "save Poland". Remind me again what happened at Yalta and to Poland after the war?

Im not even a stormweenie /pol/ faggot numale, but history is written by the winner, so read up kiddo.

or geothermal energy for that matter

its a plot hole yeah, and clearly morphius and co are the bad guys all along lol

They're sentient in the Matrix storyline. They even have "souls".

But you are, Germany invaded Poland full knowing they'd trigger that treaty and they were already ready to invade France THROUGH A NEUTRAL COUNTRY, full European conquest was always the endgame.
>>
>>82467289

Again. Explain to me please why the French and English declared war onto Germany, but not the Soviets. Ill wait.

>and they were already ready to invade France

That was AFTER France and England declared war m8.

>full European conquest was always the endgame.

Wrong. Creating Lebensraum in the East was the endgame. Listen mate. This is fact. Im not spouting some retarded "muh gorillion" bullshit from /pol/.
>>
/pol/ pls go
>>
>>82467215
he meant that there is another "redpill" when you realize the machines were the good guys
>>
>>82467133
This would work except I'm not Will Smith idiot.
>>
>>82467530
More than the good guys I managed to see the machine-human status quo as the only one that could work between both.
Kind of a permanent equilibrium for the entire planet and it's two "sentient" species, ignoring the cloudy nuclear fallout and the occasional wild asteroid.
>>
Where the fuck did they get the food for humans when Earth could no longer receive sunlight?
>>
>>82467045
this more or less. The machines didnt kill all the humans because they made a peace treaty technically. But they couldn't exactly have humans running around so they put them in bubbles.

Other humans, because humans are a perfect closed system with zero energy loss whatsoever.
>>
They were actually using human brains as a form of CPU
>>
>>82468235

No they weren't and that's an even dumber idea.
>>
>>82468235
the problem is that audiences even in 2017 wouldnt understand what the fuck RAM is
>>
>>82468251
>that's an even dumber idea.

It was in the original script and no its actually a good idea. The human brain is the most advanced CPU to have ever existed

https://www.wired.com/2011/02/world-computer-data/
>>
Because test audiences didn't understand why machines would want to use humans as random access memory.
>>
According to the lore it was purely out of spite. The entire plot is a metaphor for the sadist bdsm scene which i think the tranniwowski brothers were big on.
It actually makes the setting fairly fucked up, when you consider its just one big misanthropic hate fest by the tranny brothers.
>>
>>82468343
the human brain isn't remotely similar to a CPU

even if you could use it as one it would be absolute trash
>>
>>82468251
Its actually pretty smart as the human brain is theorised to be a quatum computer and the machines would need it to create effective ai
>>
>>82468465
>the human brain isn't remotely similar to a CPU

Yeah it's way better
>>
>>82468465
Nope.jpg the human brain exhibits property of quantum computing. So would be the most effective processing unit.
>>
>>82463787

Was there anything inheritantly bad about being in the matrix? It seems like normal life inside; you can still experience life like it was before the machines took over, but outside its all depressing and constant war. Besides the obvious muh freedom shit
>>
>>82468493
it's also been theorized to be an interface for the soul. which means it's actually just putty that does nothing on its own.
>>
>>82468534

>>
>>82463787
Because the studios made them change the original idea, because they were afraid audiences would be too stupid to understand the original idea. So they changed them to batteries.
>>
>>82468640

This. Also the human brain would be more analogous to a GPU instead.
>>
>>82463787

Because it's physically impossible
>>
>>82467076
yeah I forgot about Germany's previous "excursions" into other lands and "liberating" "native Germans" in the years beforehand.
>>
>>82468725
According to the lore they had already invented fusion and didnt actually need the humans as a power source.
>>
>>82468465

It doesn't matter because it's more factually ambiguous than using them as an energy source
>>
>>82468805
It would make sense more than a power sauce. The power sauce theme still leaves audiences scratching their heads.
Tbh the entire issue is they didnt reveal the actual reason was pure evil malice.
>>
>>82468852
>pure evil malice
they hooked up all the humans into a virtual paradise instead of wiping them all out, thats fucking altruism if anything
>>
>>82463894
They invented the electric disc thing they use to fly instead of wings.
>>
>>82469060
Not really. For example the first tests of the matrix were done on live subjects with out pain killlers. Just cutting them open and inserting wires into their heads.
As far back as the machine war they were using harvesting war robots that lined themselves with living human bodies as a energy sorce and form of psychological warfare. This was a precursor to the matrix.
The point of the matrix is that they didnt need to do it so it was perverse punishement as reasoned by the machines. No one was free in the matrix it was an illusion and agents deleted people from it as they were trashed in the real world.
>>
Your flesh is a relic, a mere vessel. Hand over your flesh and a new world awaits you. We demand it!
>>
>>82469060
Because those are the only options, right? They couldn't have just divided the world in half and forced humans to stay on theirs.
>>
>>82469281
they only did that wild shit when the humans showed they had no desire to live in peace. instead of letting the machine nation turn the world into a post-scarcity paradise they nuked them during peace talks.

after that the machines were like 'ok fuck these niggas'
>>
>>82463787
because the script was modified so americans wouldn't get confused.
>>
>>82469697
How does this justify that or disprove their malicious intent?
They machines were already shown to murder that is what kickstarted the whole chain of events.
>>
>>82463787
The story was originally going to be that they used people as processors but they didn't think people would understand so they changed it to batteries.
>>
The machines are evil. At any point between awakening and the start of the great war they could have literally just fucked off into space.

They are Machines, they don't need an ecosystem or a habitat, no life support or gravity, they need minimal radiation shielding and a fucking hard drive, that's it.

They could have blasted out into the void without any fucking problems. Could have built a space station around Jupiter or fucking around over in the Oort cloud with a 20 digital earths in a few SSD towers but noooooooooooooooooo.

Niggas have to stick around here and stir shit up and once war does break out and its clear they're going to win what do they do? Do they use the fact that they control most of the planet and with it a substantial amount of resources and then take all that shit to fuck off over to the moon or the space between stars where we won't reach them? No, fuck that, they keep fighting knowing we're short sided and scared and what happens? We torch the sky.

Because we're scared for our lives and they have us against the wall and this whole time the fags never even needed to be in the same room.

Fuck, they could have colonized the surface of Venus without the slightest problem.
