Plus it was believed that the war against Japan would either drag on or possibly get finished off by the Soviets, leverage the US did not want them to have in the future.

Enigma was only completely broken in the pacific theater. The allied powers only broke it partially in the European theater, so they either didn't have enough information to thread bombers large enough to carry fatman and little boy (the B-29 or nothing) through most of europe into berlin or that was determined to simply not be possible with the information they had.

Also the consequences of nuclear detonation weren't entirely understood at the time, so they didn't want to risk destroying too much of Europe and the west wanted basically everything germany invented in WW2. But japan had nothing useful.

Well, why didn't they nuke Tokyo? It would only unnecessarily destabilize the country. In war, your goal is not to fuck the country up beyond repair. When you are in war with a country, you usually make plans for what happens afterwards. You need to leave essential parts of the infrastructure intact, if you don't, you'll end up occupying an unmanageable mess afterwards. You are ultimately just losing money on it.

Even the simpler Little Boy design didn't have its uranium core ready until the middle of June 1945
