Did you watch Taxi Tehran? It's not artsy at all, it's a movie filmed in a Taxi like 10 by Kiarostami, and it deals with some very interesting subjects like violence, robbery, piracy, and others. If you didn't see the film you shouldn't judge it, it's really good.

A Separation is one of the best straightforward dramas done in this century, it's also not a festival darling since it was one of the most watched foreign films in the US (and americans have a long hate relationship with subtitles)

Post Tenebras Lux is a really well shot movie, basically all the scenes are interesting and meaningful, just because it doesn't have a proper narrative it doesn't mean it's bad, I really liked the message of the movie.

I didn't understand your critic of The Master.
