Giacchino did the best possible job scoring these movies. I really like his theme. It's an actual theme, something you can whistle or hum. Jerry Goldsmith would be proud to have this as his successor.

yeah and it's not like they replaced it with something better. I didn't hate TASM when I saw it (I don't really remember enough of it to have an opinion since I only saw it once) but I remember when I realized the music was meant to be the new Spider-Man theme I just shook my head in disappointment.
The only examples of a sequel having it's own theme instead of the original films iconic one where it was at least almost as good of a theme are The Lost World: Jurassic Park and Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade.
Also does anyone know why Marvel movies are so inconsistent with the themes from film to film? The only themes I can think of that were reused for a sequel are the First Avenger theme used in Winter Soldier and the Winter Soldier theme used in Civil War. The guitar riff theme for Iron Man was fantastic but I don't think it was used outside of the first film. And The Avengers theme was memorable too but for some reason in Age of Ultron they used a brand new theme which wasn't nearly as good. I liked the Guardians of the Galaxy theme but I haven't seen the second one yet so I don't know if they kept it. It's just bizarre to me that they'd have all of these theme songs for their characters at their disposal but for some reason Marvel refuses to use them and thus each film has a forgettable as fuck soundtrack
>>82388656

Yeah the only time I've been disappointed with a Giachinno score was Jurassic World. I was disappointed with Rogue One at first but then I found out he wrote the entire score in 4 fucking weeks, which is incredible considering how it'd probably be considered to be great if he wasn't in John Williams' shadow. It's not a bad soundtrack by any means, but compared to the rest of the Star Wars films it's definitely not the best.
4 weeks is insane though. I really want to hear what he'd be able to do with at least a year to write it like the composer would normally. IMO the only composers I would be okay with replacing John Williams are Giachinno and Howard Shore. I don't think either of them could be as good as Williams, but they'd come the closest out of anyone.
>>82389168
that entire soundtrack is one of my favorite albums of all time, and not just favorite soundtrack albums, proper albums. It's so fucking good, it's crazy how even the short throwaway tracks are memorable.

>>82389835
yeah I thought Hans Zimmer lost his way in recent years after peaking with The Dark Knight but Interstellar changed my mind. I wish he wrote more scores that were as restrained as Interstellar's.
Someone needs to take his fucking drums away. I don't know why he thought having 5 drummers at once would create a worthy successor to John Williams' Superman theme. The opening piano piece in BvS was really good, but when I first listened to Wonder Woman's theme I genuinely thought it was a joke. Not only are the electric violins or whatever they are super grating to the ears, but it just sounds nothing like what the theme song for Wonder Woman should sound like. Did Junkie XL write it? I know they shared scoring duties but idk what the split was. It wouldn't sound out of place on the Fury Road soundtrack, but Wonder Woman?
The forbidden kingdoms credits song is fucking goose bump kino

Because music is something that can be tuned to human biology. A lot of pop songs nowadays most generally follow a structure which was scientifically found to get stuck in the person's head even if they disliked the song etc. so that the person would get a sort of fulfillment out of it, even though they hated it when they first heard it. When it comes to classical music the best way to explain it is that it's harmonious with your being. In a similar way, when it comes to visual art like paintings and sculptures, you know just as well as a child knows, inherently, what is is good art, what is beautiful, when you see it. Of course today you'll see literal shit on a wall and """people""" will order you to think it's art but obviously it's total bullshit.
