HBO is more important the 3 best shows HBO did (Deadwood, The Wire, The Sopranos) are better than anything FX ever did. That said The Shield, Justified, Fargo, The Americans are better than anything HBO or AMC ever did (except Mad Men)

HBO still blows everything else out of the water. FX has some great shows, but they all feel cheap next to HBO. HBO is something I get really excited for and make an occasion out of, while FX is just good TV.
