The vast majority of denominations would indeed say God will not act to stop Satan or demonic influence until the end of days. So yes, if you're alive now and Satan wants to fuck with you, God will do nothing. That's the official story for 99% of Christianity.

I thought this movie could easily be interpreted with a Christian message (I know that wasn't the intention). The only person that ultimately doesn't sell his soul is the father, because he repents of his sins. All that Satan can do is kill him. The daughter gets freed from her patriarchal bonds, for what? She gets to live in the woods and kill babies and then spend eternity being tormented in Hell. The entire reason that the family is susceptible is that they AREN'T following Christ properly; they're lying to each other, keeping secrets, etc. The feminist intent behind it doesn't make sense to me.
