This film was so nostalgic for me my entire life after watching it on vhs as a 5 year old. I watched it last year and I didn't like it at all. The final third was especially retarded.

Why are people so crazy about it? is just another case of autists liking anything over the top like DBZ? it was different, and animated well, but the actual film was absolute shit.

Firstly, I love the animation. That is great.


I love the music. Requiem is probably my favourite soundtrack. The Music is like an orgasm for my ears.

Thirdly, I like the themes of the film. I have always been interested in conciousness and becoming god and stages of evolution and other /x/ shit and how tetsuo becomes a god is quite cool.
The film just reaches a special place in my heart. I only watched it a few months back so it's not related to nostalgia, It just touches me in a way most other films don't.
