Third Kevin's the charm.
>>
>>82297390

Whole thing is genius. Loved it.

It basically confirmed that Kevin Snr. is a fallen angel, wants to be god, confirmed Hotel Assassin really happened. The series is going to be Kevin Jnr vs Kevin Snr in ultimate battle of good vs evil.

This show is too fucking good
>>
scott glenn fucking crushed it.
>>

I still think he is just a crazy old man. And now he has found a crazy old woman.
>>
>>82297950
he looks so miserable and sad here meh kev-o my husbando what happened
>>
>>82298541

His story about the "burning mattress" shows that he really did communicate with Kevin Jnr. As we saw that happen in International Assassin.

BTW he died from the snake bite. When you see those people building the ark (who are the 5 dead kids, grown up a little (races match, not a coincidence)) he is in purgatory. They know who Christopher Sunday is BECAUSE he died.

Note that he took 7 pills but did NOT drink water with them. (we know not to drink water in purgatory from International Assassin).

Note that his totem is a snake (biblical reference).

Note he died with his crutches pointing outwards like wings (fallen angel - Satan).

Note that the cross is upside down implying the satanism symbol.

Note that when he was told he could "speak to God" and took God's tongue (the drug) he ended up speaking to Kevin Jnr (God/jesus).

Note that he thinks the story is about HIM and not his son (Lucifer was banished from heaven for this).

Note that it is Grace is the one who shot him with a tranquiliser dart - he literally had a "fall from Grace" WHILE in purgatory/heaven, after thinking he was God/Jesus. Literally satan

i wasn't too into it at first. but I watched it again and fucking loved it. it was hilarious watching Scott Glenn's adventures in the outback. Beautifully shot. The self-immolation scene was disgusting. I only wish there were more flashbacks like this showing his insanity. One of the best shots in the series.
>>
reminder kevin died off screen in the first episode, shot by his wife's son, and the entire series has been in kevin's head as an attempt to comprehend is own death.

Most of it I believe to be true but I was wrong about Grace shooting him with a tranq in heaven/purgatory. He left purgatory after taking the pain meds and passing out in the armchair with the photo album. Grace shot him when he woke up after that

Everything is a red herring. The show is called Leftovers, thats the point. It's a show about people desperately searching for purpose and never getting any because the purpose already happened and they weren't a part of it. The flood would be purposeful, and they won't get even that
>>
>>82307854
I don't know why you're making it seem like it's surprising that they wrapping up the show on its final season.
>>
>>82307886
then dont watch it
>>
>>82307886
While I agree with you on the specifics, I disagree with the spirit of this idea. Yes, they're all looking for meaning where there is none. This episode was a perfect example. Kevin Sr thinks he's going to be responsible for preventing the flood; Grace Playford thinks she is fulfilling or becoming a part of prophecy because of the page of the book she found on Kevin. Both are entirely wrong and it's merely an odd set of coincidences that has brought them together.

Someone at Collider saw 7 of the 8 episodes and said in an article they were mystified as to how it's going to end. So Lindelof and Perotta are going to play it close to the vest till the last episode.

>Someone at Collider saw 7 of the 8 episodes and said in an article they were mystified as to how it's going to end
This makes me slightly worried, but I remember that I felt the same way with seasons 1 and 2, and those were superb season endings.
>>
>>82308583
They also talked about how they ended season 2 in a way that would be conclusive, were it not renewed by HBO. And I feel it could have ended there, so the question is: can Lindelof pull it off again? Can he top himself?

Remember these people are retards so I doubt it's that complicated Tbh.
>>
>>82308756
Well the article touched upon the internet (they say reddit but we know there was plenty of analysis here too) and it's ability to unravel "puzzlebox" tv. So I think Lindelof's strategy at this point, if there is going to be some le epic tweest, is to be as opaque as possible until the very last episode, which they purposefully did not air for the Collider people.

We might not be getting a bunch of red herrings, but we're not getting any clues to the end either.
>>
>>82308683
the only thing lindelof ever really pulls off is making people think hes going to pull something off.

GR go after a wide range of people, literally everyone. WBC and paps target specific small people. Unless you're a famous celebrity or at a funeral for soldier where tehy happen to be, they would never affect your life. The GR is everywhere fucking with everyone's life. Yes, it is a false equivalence. Go fucking kill yourself already and end your pathetic sad life.

He wrote Season 2's finale without knowing if there would even be a season 3 as well and I thought that was great.
>>
The exchange between Kevin Sr. and Matt on the phone was pretty obvious foreshadowing.

>Matt: Children don't feature prominently in scripture.
>Kevin Sr: What about Abraham's kid?
>M: Isaac? He was 36.
>K: No, no, when Abraham tried to sacrifice him.
>M: He was a grown man, 36 years old.
>K: That makes no fucking sense at all.

Kevin Sr. is gonna have to sacrifice Kevin, though we already knew this from the end of the final trailer.

Also apparently they took down the version of the trailer with S.O.S. by Abba, and replaced it with some other song, lame.

Said this in an earlier thread. How does Sarah (Nora) come in to play here?

they didn't depart, they died in the outback.

The people the WBC targets got bored with them after the first time they saw them. The people paps target get bored with them the first few times they see them.

But the GR, somehow, did the same shit for seven years and still no one is bored with them. For literal reasons.

So yes, the writing is absolutely ridiculous.

Your lack of counter-argument is noted.

They always do this, the fucking cunts. HBO trailers usually have God-tier music, but they take them down and replace them with the most generic shit. Except for Game of Thrones and its shitty trailer music.

Well there is the fact that the GR keep escalating their attacks. First it was just standing around, then they broke into people's houses and put effigies of their departed loved ones there, then they were threatening schoolchildren and storming and occupying the only "safe" place in the world.

Yeah I'm with you on this, I hope they don't end the series with "everyone's theories are bullshit and they're all definitely crazy"

Part of the reason I loved episodes like international assassin was how well the show has walked that line- at first you think its utterly ridiculous and then you start to think about the part where hundreds of thousands just vanished and clearly there's at least some element of the world thats supernatural/beyond human explanation.

Now this season seems to just be honing in on "there is no chance of any such element existing" which kind of makes me sad
>>

>>82316646
I don't see it that way, to me it seems like the show has long gone past any ambiguity about supernatural events taking place when Kevin was dead and buried for 8 hours and came back to life. If the first season of the show was about whether people were going crazy or seeing signs, the second season was about how to interpret those signs, which are vague and inscrutable.
>>
>>82315853
Context, man. That shit's a little different when 2% of the worlds population disappeared, society is basically just broken, and the cult's explicit purpose is "fuck you for caring about the departed"
>>
>>82316765
The show goes past any ambiguity in its basic premise, the departure is 100% supernatural/beyond human understanding (I don't think the difference is meaningful in the context of the show).

Part of the shows charm for me is that there's almost equal evidence for both interpretations- Kevin drank the poison but was it really the instantaneous heart-stopping drug that John's father said it was, or was it somethign else? John believes Kevin is christ because he shot him, but a gunshot isn't even close to 100% deadly.

I'm with you that it's about interpreting signs, but the most recent episodes (in particular the last one) seem to be pushing the narrative that there are no signs, just human interpretation. I don't think thats the "correct" interpretation of the show at all but I just hope they don't veer too much in that direction
