He tried blowing his imaginary beak off on stage. When he goes to the bathroom in the hospital to make sure it's gone, he sees that he didn't kill Birdman, Birdman is still there.
So he takes a dive out the window.
Emma Stone is there to give it a shallow sense of wonder and confuse the issue, keep people talking.
Either that, or it was the stealthiest capeshit of all time.
