Because Arrow and The Flash are soap operas for teenagers. The dialogue always consists of the most forced, cringeworthy "I'm so quirky and awkward xD" dialogue. The sets are so bland and boring, the cinematography is flat, in general the shows are just poorly written. Killers of the week, which aren't even inventive, we've had about 4 or 5 of them in The Flash who are just super strong. Really running out of ideas and they're only on the third season.

Gotham is kino of the highest order. The actors are clearly having a blast without obnoxiously winking at the camera every five seconds. The sets and use of color schemes is glorious with wonderful cinematography. Almost like a...comic show, something Arrow and The Flash both fail spectacularly at. Arrow and Flash both feel and look like soap operas. Gotham actually looks like a comic book show.

Don't kid yourself, season 1 was pretty lame. Season 1 laid the ground work with the GOAT camp noir style with it's beautiful sets, colors, charming acting, etc etc. The problem was the uninteresting killer of the week format, although the overarching story with Penguin rising in the mob was great. The show became GOAT with season 2 due to ditching the killer of the week garbage.

I say this all the time but Gotham is an excellent litmus test to determine whether or not someone is a pleb.
