>>82240375
The Sopranos is unarguably the best show ever.
What made The Sopranos literally the best television show of all time?
There are entire episodes that are more memorable than most of Breaking Bad or Mad Men
>>82241496
Your opinion is objectively wrong
>>82241650
Twin Peaks, Dekalog, and the Simpsons are all better
>>82239452
Gabagool?
>>82241650
Because it's not about individual episodes, cliffhangers, etc. It's about the inability to change, hatred of ones father, self etc and things that other shows don't touch in the same way. "In Camelot", the final scenes where Tony is with his fathers mistress, then with Uncle June who wasn't "man" enough to have her, childless, depressed, and then tony back at the bar playing up his father for being with this woman, slugging down a shot because he knows the only way he'll ever be normal, and ever have female attention if he's a piece of shit like his dad. It's just different.
Rule #1 of watching The Sopranos:
The watch on an empty stomach.

>>82243174
The point is maybe you don't want to be. Heavy lies the crown, that sorta thing
Name a more gangster character.....nigga i'll wait
>>82244068
A lot. Tony in his heart of hearts didn't want to be a mobster. Just from that show alone I would say that Paulie, Johnny Sack, Carmine Sr and even guys like Patsy were better gangsters.
>>82244252
>your feelings mean more than your actions
nu-male beta nice guy who writes poetry for ladies who will inevitably reject him detected
>>82244252
>>82244316
I was referring to Svetlana as in she was the most gangster
WATCH IT WEANS
>>82244316
Fair point. But killing ralphie, trying to fuck ade, among many other things show him to be an inefficient leader in many ways as well. Carmine Sr was a "real" gangster.
WATCH IT CHRISSY
>>82241600
Lowest class, untouchable detected. The ending was sublime. Perhaps one of the best endings to a series. I understood what happened and I was in high school when it aired. People expect everything to be spelled out black and white. Some subtlety is a good thing.
>>82244376
aye she's turn te weans agens us
So now that the dust has settled, did Tony die in the end?
OHH!
the balls on this prick.

No more Butchie, no more of this
>>82244521
And even if you didn't like it, the final scene was at least memorable and quickly became iconic, which is more than can be said for a lot of shows.
There are only a couple other shows I can still remember what the final shots were off the top of my head, Six Feet Under, Mad Men, Breaking Bad.
why is this show so fucking funny. i can only see it as a comedy now and every scene makes me crack up
>>82245101
Because life is a comedy anon
>>82245054
It was the perfect way to end imo. People just wanted and expected some over the top shootout in which Tony would die, but that was never what the show was about. It was also foreshadowed during the conversations with Bobby, when they imagined death would be like the lights just going out.
>>82245460
who hired the hit tho?
Was it paulie?
>>82241496
Kill yourself.
>>82245584
Nah, Paulie would never do that. It was most likely Phil placing it before he got clipped. NY might have, but they seemed pretty comfortable with Tony after the meeting.
>>82245641
It was obviously Patsy.
>>82242670
He wants to fuck her?
>>82245641
>>82245671
It was phil. Foreshadowed when tony is in the casino. Dealer says 33, black and for a moment you see a guy that looks a lot like phil coming from tony's right shoulder. Intentional.
>>82245963
And that is symbolic of members only?
>>82245584
His own crew most likely. One of the first scenes in the final episode is them talking about him not paying his respect to Sil in the hospital. Both Patsy and Paulie have a reasons to fear Tony too.
Is gabagool any good?

I reckon it would have been New York.
They may have made an agreement but with Rico hanging over Tony's head they may not wanted to risk him talking about anything he knew about them and it also clears the bad blood. With Tony out of the way they could just install their own guy and absorb New Jersey completely into their family as a new crew.

I just got done watching the first episode of The Wire and I was blown away! There is a scene where D'angelo is explaining chess to the other kids and teaching them about all the pieces. I don't know if anyone else picked up on this, but when he was telling them about pawns, he actually meant THEY were the pawns! What an amazing allegory!
I've never seen such brilliant writing and I can easily say just by having watched the first episode that this is the best show ever made!
Also the acting is phenomenal! Idris Elba and Dominic West do a great job with their Baltimore accents.
Who was Tony talking to?

>>82245963
Link to this scene?
>>82250977
And oddly hypocritically towards Mexicans.
>>82241496
Breaking Bad is not in the same stratosphere as The Wire, Sopranos or even Six Feet Under. I put on several of its best episodes to rewatch. It's so pulpy. Cranston kills it as Walt, but when he isn't on the screen, the show drags. Pic related from the fourth season had no place in the show.
>>82250977
Didn't that guy pay him to do that to get street cred for his rapping career?
>>82245963
>>82251173
I just watched the scene, starts at 46:22. Around 46:40 a guy walks by tony's right side, who is a guy. I guess being male counts towards "looking like phil"
dealer never says "33 black", and the guy isn't in focus so we can't see him, but he's on screen for about 4 seconds
it's right after Tony sees the roulette going in slow motion and is saying "same principle as the solar system" line
>>82251270
All of the pseudoscience in the show was just as ridiculous as that scene.
>>82251396
forgot last part of my post.
but that's the only time I remember them playing roulette in the last season, so if it's a different scene altogether then I could be wrong
