Drenched in water!

It was an alright episode with some pretty good scenes. Had that 'thin on the ground' feeling so many NuWho episodes have though, where none of the story beats quite feel fleshed out enough to justify the weight they're given - or like a pretty and structurally sound house lacking in furniture. The villain was barely even there, whiffed opportunity (even the racism was half-hearted). It feels like 12 and Bill spontaneously come to conclusions about the creature, rather than really having time to discover it, so the whole "KTM dilemma" thing felt like it snuck up out of nowhere way too soon. It's a prime example of a story cramped down to fit the timeslot.
Everything else was basically okay, but it seems like yet another product of an episode-planning process that struggles to achieve more than going through the NuWho motions. The breakout talent writers are the ones who overcome that, having enough creativity and affinity for how the show works that they can work with the length and add in real flair (e.g. in S8, Mathieson turned out two episodes that were essentially just unambitious romps but played all the right cards to feel original and memorable). We can safely say Dollard isn't on that list as of yet.

Terrible writing, rushed ending, literally only good part was Nardole in the vault at the end and that's saying something.

Lads that was REALLY good. Smile scared me but series 10 is shaping up to be comfy. Really well-paced, and all the sjw stuff didn't really bother me. The Doctor would say all of that stuff, be honest. And the kids weren't poorly acted, either.

A lot of funny quips and good direction. Sorta campy without looking campy. All around really light-hearted.

Next week looks like it's gonna be really fun. I'm just worried that Moffat won't properly characterize all of Bill's house mates. I bet he'll barely use her mother, too, since he loves to just move on from characters a la Clara's family and grandmother.

The vault.. It's definitely the Master. He knocked three times until the last round — he knocked four times. Could be Gomez or Simm.

Can't tell if I like this one better than the Pilot. They're different sorts of good. Definite 8/10. Solid. Fun.

I enjoyed this one on first watch (it leaked early thanks to some muppet on i-tunes uploading it instead of Smile), the second watch left me slightly bored once all my favourite scenes played out. There's not much prescense from the monster and it could very well have been a historical with a few script amendments. Just have be about a crazy racist philanthropist luring the blacks on to the ice and blow them up.
