Partly yes, of course. Life itself is a comedy. It has everything. Comedy, tragedy, horror, melodrama, suspense.

I've noticed that one of Sopranos' strongest themes is the karmic vengeance that enacts upon those who betray their family, be it their actual families or the "family", it's never rewarding and almost always meets them a terrible end. They eventually meet their decline and can either seek retribution or fall, Carmella came close when she tried to disassociate herself from Tony's crime and cheat, but she hadn't been too stubborn to realize what he meant to her.

Meadow was rebellious before seeing her family's reputation being challenged by her peers and the law, and sought a path to possibly represent people "oppressed" by the law like her's.

And now for darker fates, I believe Tony's true decline was when he killed Chrissy, and realized he was happy about it, it marked a point of no return for his sociopathy, and soon after Melfi abandoned him having come to this conclusion herself.
>>
>>82179206
You can mark Tony's spiritual rebirth and death with the beacon in the distance in his coma dream on one end an the sun flaring in his eyes in the desert at the other, I think.

Or when he goes out into the garden after coming home from the hospital and the trees are in full bloom and he basks in the sunlight, compared to him raking the leaves at the end of "Made in America" where it's basically silent and the trees are in the dead of winter.
>>
>>82179206
theres very little sociopathic about tony. only redditors think hes a sociopath.
>>
>>82179333
Then I must be a reddit

Of all the ways you can kill yourself, would anybody choose drowning? It seems like it would take a lot longer than just shooting yourself or jumping in front of a train.
>>
>>82179649
Because on some level he probably didn't want to kill himself
>>
>>82176455
Hate is an emotion.
>>
Why did this show end abruptly?
>>
>>82179829
6 and a half seasons is hardly abrupt, it was high time it was over by the end
>>
>>82179829
DON'T STOP
>>
>>82179878
No, I understand that but why didn't they have some sort of conclusion instead of just quickly going to black
>>
>>82179333
My point was he fell into genuine sociopathy when he didn't feel remorse for Chrissy.

I'm sure it was reason for Tony to be happy, he killed the guy that's been causing him problems since he joined, failed to become his protege, and even made a movie where his self-insert kills his self-insert. But with all those feelings someone would normally feel something, even in a cathartic sense.

Lame. No one talks about Breaking Bad's ending anymore. People to this day still talk about The Sopranos ending, it's iconic.
>>
>>82180041
kill yourself
>>
>>82179899
So we could make headcanon about it for the rest of time.
>>
>>82172372
>>82180134
People only talk about The Sopranos ending because it was so terrible. It's mentioned much in the same vein as the ending to Lost. Legendary for its suckage.

I liked the ending to Breaking Bad, but I really felt it should have ended with Gus getting killed. That was really a complete and perfect story arc at that point.

But shows like Breaking Bad all become morality plays in the end, they can't have Walter come out on top, in the end he must pay for his sins. So they hastily pencilled in an ending with all new villains. An ending where Walter White would suffer and die after redeeming himself. I liked it but it feels disjointed from the rest of the series. It feels like an afterthought.
>>
>>82172372
It's drama that's a lot like Better Call Saul. There's comedic elements that are really funny, but they aren't the main focus of the show.

It's been a while since I watched it but the two fat fucks were hilarious, the closet gay and one that tended to uncle June. Paulie Walnuts was great. And IMO Ralph Ciffereto (or however that's spelled) was the absolute bests. He'd take an epicly dramatic scene and make a hilareous burn or a killer wisecrack.

I really liked the bit where he was cracking jokes about the mafia dons wife being fat and it got him into a load of shit. Or the scene where he was at the dinner table with his girlfriends family. He started telling some great Jew jokes, then asked the guy next to him if he was Jewish, the guy said he was, then Ralph went right back to his Jew jokes.

Ralph stole the show and never should have been written off. He was the ultimate counterpoint and comic foil when the plot were very dark. The perfect humor seasoning for an epic drama. The Saul Goodman of Sopranos.
