I think Opie was underrated. I honestly never minded him, and I occasionally found him to be funny.
maybe the worst part of the entire O&A Extended Universe.
the only people possibly worse are Joe Derosa or Luis J Gomez.

You must have been a casual listener of the show. Opie would constantly kill good riffs to take a call because he was an unfunny cunt with nothing to contribute and he hated being left out. Opie lived a dull uneventful life so he would make up stories to make himself sound more interesting. Opie was not funny so he would default to being an asshole. Opie could be cruel but he would throw a tantrum if anyone made fun of him and got laughs. Opie would shamelessly use the excuse of "family emergency" if anyone hurt his feelings and he didn't want to show up to work. Opie would never sign contracts longer than 18 months because he honestly believed he was tallented and a bigger gig was around the corner. Everyone who worked on Opie and Anthony would be scared for their jobs because Opie would always play hardball in contract negotiations.
Opie is a terrible human being.
I used to listen to o and a religiously.
The shows I always hated were the dreaded GRIM, Greg and Jim. They had zero chemistry.
I stopped listening as soon as it was clear Ant wasn't coming back.
Now they're just dust in the wind, they all suck on their own.

The show died with Patrice. The O&A Reddit is the only show left.
