Even though it was a sitcom, the way it was shot doesn't feel claustrophobic, and the dialogue/jokes are well delivered.

This. The sets don't feel like sets. The restaurant in particular. Add to that some great commitment by the four actors and a show that practically invented memes (no soup for you, vandelay industruea etc)and it's no wonder it's so well received
