I dont understand that reasoning. The Thing has pretty disgusting but great special effects, even though it's about the humans and their struggle to survive. Same with Alien and the Blob.

Not him but in all honesty the fly probably is the most disgusting body horror movie I've ever seen by far. Alien and thing are cake in comparison. Not saying the fly is bad, it's great, but it damn well is gross.

The Fly is scary in a very different way from all these other movies
Its difficult to describe but you can tell its different from the very beginning

I'm going to fucking level here, I think Arnold movies have nowhere near the same amount of charm as Sly movies, I dont know how anyone liked commando. it was fucking boring. shit, it's silent trigger level boring.
