I love the intro but I thought the ending was sort of corny.

At times I feel like it's a movie that takes itself too seriously, but I kind of like that about it too.

I think both Houses of 1000 Corpses and Devil's Rejects are great movies. Zombie's last movie was pretty lame though.

This. The ending to House was awkward as fuck IMO. Up until doctor satan it was ok but when the genetically modified whatever creature started chasing the girl it became fucking ridiculous.

Shame tbqh. Its my favorite movie up until that part. The ending of the devil's reject's is kino in it's inception but it was executed very poorly in my opinion. Still a better idea than the ending for House

House of 1000 Corpses is a horror masterpiece because it takes place on the borders of reality and humanity. There are really people in rural areas who live this way, and who distrust and resent regular modern folks from the cities. The clan of villainous rednecks is surprisingly likeable in some of the lighter moments

It had really great set and character designs and a pretty good atmosphere. It could've been amazing, but it's still worth watching every few years.

I get that they're a secretive Satanic cult of crazy rednecks, but like other movies it never explains how they get away with it.

There's no reason a SWAT team or National Guard doesn't come busting down their doors if they're openly killing cops.

A lot of these redneck horror movies gloss over that point too readily, which is alright if it's just a silly movie, but this movie takes itself seriously enough that you'd think they'd at least explain it.

Ahhh screw it imm gonna say it. It was ruined for me when they swapped houses for a ranch setting. I don't think they had that that much fucking time on their hands to do even half of all that was portrayed. Although I did like the introduction of different characters.
