What does /tv/ think of this?

Visuals are nice but everything else is garbage.

I liked it. Godzilla is the best character. Wish Ken Watanabe had more to do than just stare off into the distance. Visuals are bretty gud.

7/10 I guess? One of those movies if I caught it on TV on a Sunday, I'd sit and watch the whole thing.

Mediocre. Less than mediocre at times. The scene where they're falling through the clouds was wasted on this film.

It was an alright interpretation of Godzilla.

The humans were the weakest part. Cranston's character was far, far more interesting than his son and shouldn't have been killed off -- at least not when he was. And Ken Watanabe's character wasn't even that necessary in the long run given all he did.

Teased the monster well, actual fight scenes were great, atomic breath legitimately hype, gorgeous visuals all around, Halo Drop scene was kino and fantastic use Threnody, also Elizabeth Olsen a qt

Plot was merely functional, Brian Cranston should have been the main character, there should have been more Ken Watanbe

MUTO designs are pretty bad, didn't really care for Army Man

Glib facsimile American version and its too damn dark. Could have used about 10 more minutes of Godzilla.

Still better than 90s version.

same as every Godzilla movie. Only good scenes are the ones where Godzilla is stomping cities and fighting monsters.

I didn't mind the MUTO designs other than the eyes, which looked too artificial, I can't think of one natural animal with eyes like that.

The monster sounds were almost pornographically good.

Wish the final fight had been a bit more drawn out, but the breath kill was a great way to end it
