This is what kind of bothers me when I watch his stuff. It actually made his old stuff great, because his subjects almost never caught on that he was subtly mocking them to their faces. It was fun-poking, but not nasty.

The whole "seeing them as human" thing Louis does is overshadowed by the verbal abuse and humiliation that follows it. The bottom line is often grey but the substance and interactions consist mostly of Louis spitting on the eccentric navies from his high horse.

You credit him for deeming them human after parading them around like circus freaks and asking them the most intimate rude questions. The answers to these questions are often very clear but Louis knows he can be as cruel as he wants if he does it from the safety of the politically incorrect.
