Mike was originally going to murder the truck driver and the other guy, but upon watching them suffer under the sun like he was he realized they were fellow human beings innocent of any sin and so he shot at God out of pure anger for forcing all of them into that horrible situation, but God wouldn't die from his shots so Mike realized that the true villain there were the shoes because, JUST THINK ABOUT IT, Tuco wears shoes, Hector wears shoes, every drug dealer and evil man wears shoes. Shoes are the true source of evil, so Mike tried to kill them but only managed to cause a minor wound that led to the shoe blood dripping into the truck.

Im glad im not the only one bothered by this. I saw Heavy Metal over a decade ago and this scene still sticks out in my head, he takes one bite of a chili dog and throws it out the window. WHY IS THIS A THING? it triggers my autism bad.
