He went on the show with them and did a full interview. Later he came back and they all hung out for another video. Also they hungout during this time and drove around and shit.

Even after all that they still shit on his work. During the Suicide Squad review they do a completely unnecessary insult against him (power of bad screenwriting - they make fun of max and his hair)
