Technically, he's the same rank as Sean Spicer.
He's filler episode material alone. Good for a couple laughs.
He was, the show is "Starring Patrick Stewart, also Starring Jonathan Frakes."

No, Riker was literally Kirk in space, it would have been bullshit to repeat the exact same main character for your new show

All I know for sure is that he stayed 1st officer through Nemesis. Get a fuckin ship you coward.
>>82011555
No, but if they wanted to keep Riker on the Enterprise, they should have replaced him with Thomas. If he was so focused on his career, he should have gotten his own ship way sooner.

Riker probably would have been the action-lead of the series, but it turned out that Frakes had a bad back owing to an injury suffered working as a mover years before. He couldn't even sit down normally (leading to his infamous straddle maneuvers), let alone do convincing action sequences. By comparison, Stewart was (and still is, for a man approaching eighty) excellent shape and was able to segue into a more active role as the series progressed.

The actor maybe, it was completely retarded for the character.
How people can whine about the nu-Trek films being to actiony when the TNG movies exist is beyond me. At least the action in nu-Trek is good.
