For the past 10 years there's been a lot of complaining that female main characters are either shallow boring characters who are good at everything or fanservice. I came up with an idea based entirely around trying to "do one right".

I came up with a pretty crazy idea but I wanted to keep it for myself, but fuck it I'm a loser.

You know time travel? What if time travel created an alternate universe each time it was done. But this could be useful in a specific way.

A team of scientists experiment with antimatter acceleration. "Near" lightspeed. The experiments produce odd mishaps. After a while the head scientist comes up with a weird hypothesis. He keeps it to himself. The experiments are producing results before they are put to motion. We are talking about extremely minute matter, so it takes a massive machine to be even able to detect it.

But do you already realize what is happening? This is why a narrator might be needed. Each time a new alternate reality is created. In the main reality, the main universe of mankind, no results happen. That universe is in a way, dead when it comes to time travel. And this branch of alternate realities produce countless offshoots that end up in dead-ends themselves. But the branch keeps moving forward with new experiments and each time results are found in the new ones.

Fast-forward through the boring shit. It could be shown, whatever, I don't care to write about it.

A far future. They have realized time travel creates alternate realities. This is the how-manieth down the chain. A man enters a chamber. He is being sent back far into the past. It's simply a fun game, nothing of importance. What happens is that he is copied smallest matter by smallest matter. The copy is and is not sent back whole in some vague chamber. It's sent back tiny piece by piece in an instant, 3D printed into the past. Because it's instant, the pieces don't scatter into different realities. Some science has been mode.

A man pops into far past. A modern sword pops in as well. He has his sword and his goal is to take over the world with modern, or far future knowledge. That's the rest of the movie. It doesn't matter what follows, the beginning is already interesting enough.

Suddenly, all toasters in the world stop working. From the mother's perspective it seems it just got too old, but after she goes to her office and overhears her workmates talking about the building's toaster doesn't work (they ask themselves two things: why does a office building got a toaster without bread and they talk about how their toasters also stop working in their homes).
After returning home she talks about it with her familiy and the father, son and daughter also notice their acquaintances also got toaster problems.

The government apply a preemptive martial law expecting computers to fail during the following week, the father being part of the military tells his family they're moving before the chaos starts. Few unspecified days pass by and modern displays fail (LCD and plasma at the same time) riots start all over the world, but as the CRT are rare, cellphones and radios have already died, only few people know the truth about how the entire planet went down the toilet and merely hours before hard drives fail, unknown circles all around the world seem to find the problem (military? scientists?).
The father then reveals he got a -sturdy and old looking- prototype communicator from the military which still works.

Obligatory scene when the family is cornered by armed marauders during the night. When the father is forced to make a difficult desicion, one marauder presses the trigger against the older son. But the weapon fails, and both quickly overpower the three marauders, who were struck in fear as their empowering elements failed just after 00:00, according to the father's wrist clock.

Another Seth Rogen stoner movie, only this time he plays a 45-year-old lonely hermit living in a small trailer in the middle of the desert. Every day he wakes up at 3 PM, smokes a bowl, browses 420chan for 12 straight hours, smokes again, and goes back to sleep. The whole film is a 60 minute montage of him doing this over the course of months with distorted 311 songs playing in reverse as the background music.

A recovering heavy drug user is given a puppy to keep him occupied. Over time the dog becomes his best friends and he shares everything even breaking down to tear in front of the dog. The dog dies of old age and the owner relapses and ends up ODing. What he thought was his pathway to heaven/hell is actually the process of reincarnation as he is given a new life as a puppy. this time around his owner is a drug dealer. He (the dog) eventually gets shot by the police during a raid.
