Yeah, don't bother with season 9 but watch until the end of 8. The cast is so likable that the show never becomes truly bad.

I mean, its a comedy show and its got a lot of filler, but those moments when this show decides its gonna put in some real effort truly make it a great show. They also did very well with the main cast, they're all quite likable and I never had a "oh fuck, its another (input shit character) scene" watching Scrubs.

Fuck the spinoff series with the school though. That's some of the worst TV I've seen in my life.

JD wasn't the only one holding up the show. It was the entire cast that worked good together. S9 shits on that and attempts to be a transitional season to a Scrubs spin off, but the new characters had no chemistry and even with the old cast there (except Braff) it still was awful.
Also, it's been awhile but the humor in s9 turns darker and it's basically just a shitty House

I watched the whole series over the course of a few weeks. JD kept getting more and more pathetic with each passing season. Final season he was full on cringe.

Within a few minutes of starting the finals season I thought it was going to be a total disaster. But Denise and her Cox light boyfriend saved it.
