Kiss Kiss Bang Bang
pure kino
I doubt anyone on this board has seen this, but along with the Larry Sanders Show this was the proto-Entourage (imagine if it was centered on Ari without all the Vince feel good bullshit). Produced by Joel Silver who at the time was one of the biggest hotshot producers (Die Hard, Lethal Weapon, Matrix etc). Really underrated.
Really edgy satire of Hollywood for a late 90's FOX comedy: main character is a cynical amoral studio producer who makes shit action movies financed with blood money, his assistant is a former child actress turned cokehead prostitute, Jewish screenwriter gets constantly abused, every other character is a complete degenerate, manipulatively self-serving or an ego diva, random cameos from A-list actors who play asshole versions of themselves, etc.
Californication? Was that in Hollywood?

Screw what you nerds say; this has a few too many dick jokes, but there are 10/10 comedy gold moments. The party scene with Michael cera is hilarious as is the breakfast scene.
