What does /tv/ think of this guy? Do you usually agree or disagree with his reviews ?

I don't evaluate a critic over how often I agree with them or not, I evaluate them based on their ability to make good arguments. Kermode does this better than just about anyone working today.

Well said.
I know if I will like a film based on his review, regardless of whether I agree with him or not. That's all I want in a film critic.
He watches movies for a living. Why is he always wearing a suit?

I often disagree with him but I still like the show. Mayo is a good MC and keeps things moving.
Kermode's defense of some utter trash like Twilight can be pretty cringe worthy tho.
He plays a mean jazz cello:

>watch his reviews after every movie I watch
>it's a 10 minute rant video
It's time to settle in and get comfy

His reviews are a little baggy
Inception was fucking awful. Also, the tasteless fuck refuses to acknowledge Friedkin makes shit films.
I like listening to the show, but he seems to really let his political views influence his thoughts on movies.

Yeah. I remember the time he claimed with a straight face that the Twilight franchise was better than the original Star Wars trilogy and even wrote an article about it. I mean, I sympathized with his defence of those flicks as perfectly valid entertainment for a female audience right until that point.
