The strategy is a lot more dynamic/fluid as there are no forced tribes/relationships and you cannot win yourself to the end.

The power comps are just designed to cause a constant shift in power and change in group dynamics. The social strategy aspect is the actual game part. You have to figure out a way to advance yourself every week.

Look, I don't like how much Survivor has randomized the rules in recent years to "re-invigorate" the game. It becomes more like a slot machine than a game of skill.

But I bet it takes more effort to find one idol on Survivor (and know when to play it) than to win an entire season of Big Brother.

Both shows are the same product dressed in a different outfit. Big Brother 's arguably a better product because you can watch it in real time.

There are many good Survivor players but for the most part I do believe Big Brother players have to be more strategic to win (there are exceptions obviously). The current Survivor meta (especially post S19 and on) is getting closer to what Big Brother is like and many of the past Loyalty/Comp Beast type Survivor winners/MUH BIG MOVEZ Survivor winners wouldn't win now.

Survivor has been about strategy since Season 1 with Richard Hatch, who was the first person to realize that in a democracy, the majority wins. Everyone else thought they were out having an adventure, Hatch always saw the finish line.
