I didn't like it at all. It felt like a really forced, self-conscious effort for Stiller to make an "optimistic, feel-good" movie because most of his work is quite sharp and cynical. It came off really phony. It's the movie equivalent of a guy who just finished a round of mandatory anger-management classes, and now he's speaking really softly and pretending to be a different person, but you know it'll all go out the window as soon as someone upsets him.

I still think of that godawful scene when he imagines a solemn-faced Kristen Wiig walking around strumming an acoustic guitar and singing "Space Oddity." The whole movie is just embarrassing fake schmaltz like that
