Goodfellas, I found Casino too dragging.

My brain tells me Casino is technically the better made movie.
But my heart will always say Goodfellas.
Despite having the same actors, director, and genre, they could literally not be any more different.
Goodfellas starts at the bottom, works to the top, and then everything falls apart rather quickly. It leaves you feeling a deep sense of nostalgia for something you never actually experienced (or ever will) and begging for more.
Casino is more like aversion therapy, not nostalgic at all. It's almost like Scorsese is punishing you for wanting a movie that romanticizes the mafia, which is why it opens with Ace metaphorically going to hell. it starts at the top, and moves to the bottom at a painfully slow pace, leaving you deeply exhausted and feeling like you got shortchanged. Literally the feeling 99 percent of people get leaving the Casino.
I think Casino is probably smarter, better looking, and more complicated, but I'd rather watch Goodfellas any day.

goodfellas is the obvious choice, casino is the contrarian choice

Also, there wasn't a retarded scene in GoodFellas where the protagonist went full retard and decided to marry a parasitical cunt after watching her act like a parasitical cunt in public.

Goodfellas didn't have a seen this fucking kino either. Casino also had the better Pesci performance and Frank Vincent had a better, larger role.

Agreed, like I said, better cinematography, more complex characters (I actually kind of find Sharon Stone funny, but maybe thats just me) and overall a much "deeper" story about the collapse of society.
But its way less "fun', so I choose....
Mean Streets. Fuck you all.
