Binged read them to about book 10, took a break, really need to get back to it. But I was getting more and more annoyed with Rand's whole "women are the most precious beings alive, I cannot allow any to be harmed, even enemies, at the cost of me and all my loyal soldiers(male only) lives" shtick. It wasn't really there at the beginning, he even kills that one chick hunting him in book 3 I guess, but it kept getting worse and worse. The whole point of the entire series is that the shadow wants to break rand, not kill him, everything they did was to that end. Killing him would eventually just lead to the pattern spitting out another "chosen one", and wouldn't have progressed their cause.

Books 1-6 I thoroughly enjoyed. Shadow Rising was a bit slower paced but was kind of necessary for Egwenes arc.

Lord of Chaos was fucking epic.

Crown of Swords slowed noticeably, but was still good.

Books 8-10 were glacially paced and Crossroads of Twilight was literally "Nothing happens, the book".

I've never seen so much fluff and filler in my life. He would spend 5 pages describing the dresses of each character and how you could tell "She was from a working class family due to the cut of her dress which was obviously inferior wool from Illian" and the always used "She swooshed her skirts!"

Ituralde was maybe the one great captain to actually pull of some impossible shit like annihilating the entire Seanchan Almoth front army, though losing lot of men in process, but taking out maybe tens or even hundred Damane's. A defeat that maybe cost the Seanchan more than their fight against Rand in book 8. Lets not forget Ituralde also being responsible for defending the Shadar Logoth front in the final battle; we also see Rand handpicking the best of the best with him to that battle (Nynaeve, Moiraine, Aviendha, Cadsuane..)

Bashere was won quickly over by Rand, partially due to "taveren" nature. More or less created "Army of Dragon", essentially creating a gigantic fighting force in a short period of time. (8-10 months before Tarmon Gaidon)

Bryne literally fucked the bitchiness out of Siuan, so he was pretty gud I guess. Also talked some sense into Egwene.
