I was a fucking pussy (I avoided looking at porn related stuff like it was genocide), but while horror is not my favorite genre it's really fucking hard to give me goosebumps since I've seen all kinds of fucked up shit already.

I literally trembled when a time they put the martial arts movies right next to the horror section. Just imagine 9 years old me looking only to the left and avoiding to be too near to that horrifying horror section. It felt like Pinhead was going to jump from those fucking covers and grab me to their world.

It was nightmare fuel, I say.

I used to think the monsters on the covers would come out and get me in the middle of the night if they were left sitting out face up. I'd have to put them all away or flip them over whenever I stayed at my dad's.

Exact opposite experience, but the covers of stuff like Cheerleader Camp (1988), Slaughter High (1986), Return to Horror High (1986), even the covers for Goosebumps books like the Say Cheese and Die series, all had skellies acting out sitcommy scenes and I always though they all looked unintentionally like really based cartoons about high schools/ families/ camps full of skelly hijinx.
