The director/writer of Cinderella man is a real piece of shit for how Max Baer was portrayed in that film. By all accounts, Max was a completely reasonable person who felt deep, lifelong guilt over the fact that he killed two people in the ring, to the point where he provided financial support to the children of those fighters. The film needed to be punched up emotionally though, so they made his character a sociopath who was proud of the fact that he killed those men, despite the fact that all evidence points to this being a complete misrepresentation of his character.
