the quality had been on the decline for a good 2 seasons by then, but the behind the laughter episode would have been a good sendoff

Since there were still well loved/remembered episodes after season 8, I'd say at most season 15, at the least 12. Though perhaps remove some of the more awful episodes.

there's about 3000 jobs depending on the continued production of the show. just let it keep going. people have to eat.
