No, I don't know you and I don't give a fuck about you or your opinion.
Eat a humongous dick.

What's the point? If you don't like it, you'll stop watching it. If you do, you'll keep going

I was extremely disappointed at the beginning with the amount of singing and dancing, but later on it was toned down and I loved majority of it.

The songs were pretty mediocre though, for example Sing Street's every major song they played was extremely catchy, here they were more like "story" tools or whatever, but sucked. I honestly would've enjoyed the movie if it had the piano/jazz parts but no musical/dancing parts, then it would've been a great 2 hour drama.

Who else truly enjoyed this movie besides fags and retarded women?
It nosedives after the second song actually, at minute 30 when they first meet, and those two songs are the best of the movie so it's up to you to keep watching it. Later the movie rises up almost at the end when they finally break up
Gosling was a mistake, they should have put Tom Hardy instead of him

After the second song(the one about showing off hollywood glamour parties and shit) I wanted to fucking quit this piece of shit. But then the movie slowly won back my trust and I had a good time. 8/10 beginning is the worst.

Give it another 10 minutes, it gets comfy after they stop singing.
Just finished watching it and I liked the ending. It was bittersweet.

>decide to make a musical
>all the songs are awful
That was a petty interesting creative decision desu. I really didn't see it coming
>>81749656
oh my goodness, bravo anon, my fucking sides
>>81749409
i also didn't like the first two songs, but it does improve

City of Stars was pretty bland (an god they played it like 8 times) but the first half of the movie had some great songs

I did the same thing, but I went back and finished it. I enjoyed it....the rest of the movie isn't anything like the first 10 mins
>>81753249
Did the same thing. Actually had to try it three times before I managed to finish the film.
Still, I enjoyed it. Last song was nice.
I saw this movie 3 months ago and already forgot everything about it.

Damien Chazelle will either make you love or hate jazz.

the blue dress
>>81749409
Well, it forgets that it's a musical shortly after the third or fourth song, so you could always start there.
>>81749409
Unless you paid money for it, you don't really have any moral obligation to finish it.
It's a musical anyway and that's the weakest and more gimmicky of all genres.
You shouldn't have bothered with it in the first place.
>>81749409
It will help you understand love.
Probably the most tastefully understated and palatable love story I've seen in a while.
>>81749409
kino Griffith Observatory scene
>>81749409
B-but the movie has a lot of heart and it's a love letter to classic Hollywood!
So they do they perform songs on a stage because they're musicians? Or do they actually sing to each other instead of talking?
>>81758403
None of your fucking business, fuck off.
>>81758403
The latter.
>>81749832
I didn't like how they threw like 3 musical numbers 15 minutes in but then they toned it down waaaaay too much and left wishing they had done more
>>81749409
no, go fuck yourself

>convince me to try to keep going
The Goose is in it

CITY OF STARS
ARE YOU SHINING JUST FOR ME?
>>81752941
the leitmotiv is good but as you said the rest is bland and the result is disappointing
