The songs were pretty mediocre though, for example Sing Street's every major song they played was extremely catchy, here they were more like "story" tools or whatever, but sucked. It nosedives after the second song actually, at minute 30 when they first meet, and those two songs are the best of the movie so it's up to you to keep watching it. Later the movie rises up almost at the end when they finally break up
