The original 70's movie is pretty funky, yes

Yes. The movie is not bad. Just remember that the original musical was a very secular take on the Lufe of Christ. Some of that secular vision still seeps in. Also Superstar is the best song.
But the ending shot is pure Christiankino, like Ben-Hurs

Movie is good, black Judas is absolutely based.

The musical was kinda atheist, but they toned it down in thr movie by changing a few lines.
Yes the vision of the film is mostly secular, but you can still get a good passion play out of it
I love the film, the musical is fantastic and I would recommend it to anyone.
Yes it's great. Stick to the 70's version with Ted Neeley as Jesus.

What about the 2000 version.
Something about it feels like I feel when I think about the 90's
Also, you get to see Rik Mayall

It's pretty shit, but Mayall's Herod song is way better than the 70's version by far.

>in the 70s version he throws a bagel at jesus
Get out you king of the ((((JEWS))))

He's got a gay ass voice.
Mayall playing it more as a mockery is better.

The 1970 concept album is the best presentation music-wise.

Only that album. All other renditions suck compared to it.
