tarkovsky is a russian hack.

i an appreciate his films from an artistic perspective, but filmaking is more than that.

Kubrick is the only director that is able to balacne the fine line between entertainment and art.

His films are fun to watch but also have some artistic merit, while tarkosvky will put you to sleep

I love tarkovsky but I can't bear to rewatch them again. After one viewing is more than enough.

Kubrick films may not match the same artistic value but they are very enjoyable to rewatch. Filmaking is about entertainment at the end of the day.

Tarkovsky is an artist pretending to be a filmaker. He's style is more art and belongs in art galleries not film theatures.
