which is the whole point. because women and minorities actually have morals, casting them as mercenaries would be unrealistic. minor deviances from reality such as this are much more jarring then complete disregards for reality (i.e. mutant powers) and will ruin suspension of disbelief.

on the other hand, white men have no morality whatsoever. the only reason white men aren't running around murdering and eating people are because white men don't know how to cook. this ingrained sociopathy is a defining trait of white men, which makes them the obvious choice for casting roles such as mercenaries.
