Leftovers is the worst show of the Golden Age of TV. I was super hyped when it was announced. I watched the first season. By episode 3, I realized it was one of the worst tv shows ever seen produced by HBO. It just got worse and worse, but I kept watching to see how bad it would get. I was amazed that every episode was more absurd and worse than the previous. In terms of top tier tv production, I think Leftovers is the worst tv show I have seen ever. Easily the worst since John from Cincinatti. I have seen all the episodes now. Fuck me. Feels like an 8th grader wrote it.
Leftovers is especially terrible for two reasons. One, it has the production levels of other top tier tv shows. I can't imagine they spend less than two million on each episode. It has all the bells and whistles of the best produced tv shows. Two, it tries to be profound. When you combine the high production values with the lofty aspirations that it doesn't even remotely come close to achieving, you have one of the biggest creative failures in the history of television.
Worst of all, people are now claiming it is one of the best shows on tv. Or that it is one of the most underrated tv shows. No No No. It is complete and utter filth. It is the bowel movement of an MFA drop out. It is a disgrace to the amazing tv shows being produced right now. Good fucking riddance.
