This is exactly what gets most faggots butthurt on here. They hate knowing that this is the truth and want to pass it off as being "Reddit". Reddit is mainstream and welcoming to most, whereas 4chan is counterculture, obscure, and welcoming to none but the lowliest dregs on the internet. Rick is against the mainstream; he is counterculture. This makes the average user on 4chan (the ones that hate this show) beyond pissed that some cartoon nailed them so well.

Rick and Morty is only considered the greatest adult swim show by people who got there after 2008.

I imagine most folks who watched adult swim, who also love rick and morty got there when Children's Hospital, NTSF, and Eagleheart were on their gay rampage clogging up the airwaves. The only good show to come out of that live action slew was Delocated.

Why are R&M fans (redditors) so desperate for people to like their cartoon?
Recently, most of the anti-Rick and Morty posts and threads are blatantly obvious attempts at baiting, and fans of the show are more than willing to savagely defend it's honor with their lives, which just leads to more obvious baiting, and more rattled redditors taking said bait.

It doesn't seem to happen with any other TV series that occasionally gets shit on on /tv/.
