Besides "Lawrence of Arabia" and "Das Boot", what good WW I and II movies would you recommend?

Specially from the "losers side" perspective.

The 2008 Russian film "Admiral" is pretty good, it's about the losing side of the Russian Civil War
>>

Watched it, didn't like it that much, specially the affair between the Admiral and the wife of his friend being the main plot of the movie.

>the fuckin' Ukrainians betrayed us reeeeeeeee

Downfall is the archetypal "losers side perspective of WW2" film.
>>
Well, The Great Escape is about the allies but they had all lost before they ended up in the POW camp, and the escape was a disaster and they nearly all died.

Forgot this classic

The 1993 film Stalingrad is kino.

All quiet on the eastern front
Gallipoli if you want a single campaign that failed
>>

Most of the losers perspective movies have been named. Only one I could add is Generation War and Bridge on the River Kwai if we're counting POWs. As for other world war movies I'd recommend Kelly's Heroes. Absolutely classic comedy.

KELLYS HEROES
WHERE EAGLES DARE
GUNS OF NAVARONE
DIRTY DOZEN
CROSS OF IRON

im old as fuck

very good choices. where eagles dare is surprisingly comfy for a war film.
>>

Beneath Hill 60 is a decent WW1 film.

Only briefly touches on the losers at the end though

The film was good but it had tunnel vision.
