Justice League wasn't on the WB, it was something done on cable's the Cartoon Network which meant guns, punching, and whatever were all fine to show.

Network television's cartoons had a hard time competing due to all the restrictions they were under which only got worse as time went on. If I remember right they were required for the longest time, maybe still are, to have a certain percentage of their programming be educational. They got away with that by doing "a very special episode" type bullshit on some sitcoms on occasion, but they just got harder and harder on everything shown for kids because of those jackasses wanting to "think of the children".

Just binged the entire series throughout the past week. Overall it's surprisingly solid. I grew up with it, so of course I'm biased, but it's fun to watch. Surprising amount of continuity, and a nice introduction to marvel. Yea, the animation is a bit choppy, yea they re-use scenes, yea it gets goofy... but it's neat; it reminded me of why I like the character in the first place.

Someone needs to shut down ESU. It's a downright menace to society.

I am drunk and too lazy to quote all the various shit I read so far. I will provide simple bullet points of my thoughts.

Spectacular Spider-Man had better action sequences for sure, but their character designs were fucking lame as fuck. Spider-Man TAS had the best villains/voices.

Mark Hamill KILLED IT in 8 eps as Hobgoblin!

The lack of violence makes the show a little difficult to watch nowadays, but its still 100% worth a watch for anybody who digs Spidey.

If you like Spider-Man and haven't watched this show just fucking watch it already. It's only 65 eps. You can burn through that in a weekend easy.

Cool but infrequent crossovers. The show primarily followed Peter Parker/Spider-Man and none of this constant team-up Avenger shit.

2nd season was best of all. Neogenic fucking Nightmare had it all. Insidious Six, X-Men, Mutant Agenda, Blade vs. Morbius, Parker mutating into Man-Spider, Vulture/Tablet of Time...

It's very nearly Spider-Kino, but Spectacular MIGHT edge it out due to better writing overall. Both of these shows basically should stand side-by-side as being overall excellent, with very different flaws.

Christopher Daniel Barnes is hands down the best Spider-Man ever. His inner monologues were always fantastic. He really brought it every episode.
