Can anyone recommend any movies about the passage of time and how it affects characters. This could be either through a lot of time passing on-screen, or having a framing story comparing a character with his younger self. This is one of my favourite themes in movies but it is hard to search for more films.
Some movies that I liked with this theme:
Once Upon A Time In America
Citizen Kane
Cinema Paradiso
Midnight in Paris
Interstellar
About Schmidt
Click
Amadeus
The Curious Case of Benjamin Button
About Time
Some movies that I didn't like but still had this theme:
Boyhood
Forrest Gump
Synecdoche, New York
The Grand Budapest Hotel
This theme in other media:
The Inner Light - Star Trek TNG
The Girl In The Fireplace - Doctor Who
Time - Pink Floyd
Cat's In The Cradle - Harry Chapin
