We all have one, that one moment that just gets you right in the feels.
>Chris did get out. He enrolled in the college courses with me, and although it was hard, he gutted it out like he always did. He went on to college and eventually became a lawyer. Last week, he entered a fast food restaurant. Just ahead of him, two men got into an argument; one of them pulled a knife. Chris, who'd always made the best peace, tried to break it up. He was stabbed in the throat. He died almost instantly.
>He was my brother...

>The second one, it was like we was both back in older times and I was on horseback going through the mountains of a night, going through this pass in the mountains. It was cold and there was snow on the ground and he rode past me and kept on going. Never said nothin' going by, just rode on past... and he had his blanket wrapped around him and his head down. And when he rode past I seen he was carrying fire in a horn the way people used to do and I could see the horn from the light inside of it 'bout the color of the moon. And in the dream I knew that he was going on ahead and he was fixin' to make a fire somewhere out there in all that dark and all that cold. And I knew that whenever I got there he'd be there.

Was Gandalf's superpower putting spin on things to make people think he's a good guy and getting them to do what he wants?
"but that is not for them to decide". He decided. He clearly wanted Frodo to take the ring and pushed him the whole way to the council of Elrond, but had the balls to sit there at the council and wait for Frodo to offer to take it so he'd think it was his own choice. He orchestrated things perfectly for Frodo to be in that situation, acted like Frodo offering to take it pained him, but jumped on the offer immediately. He played Frodo like a goddamn puppet the whole way. What an evil cunt. People who knew him as Lathspell were woke.

>“So in the end, was it worth it? Jesus Christ. How irreparably changed my life has become. It's always the last day of summer and I've been left out in the cold with no door to get back in. I'll grant you I've had more than my share of poignant moments. Life passes most people by while they're making grand plans for it. Throughout my lifetime, I've left pieces of my heart here and there. And now, there's almost not enough to stay alive. But I force a smile, knowing that my ambition far exceeded my talent. There are no more white horses or pretty ladies at my door.”

Did you honestly write in that hopes of hurting my feelings? Cause I got some news for you: it didn't. I just didn't. Now I can see how you would think writing something that rude would hurt a normal human's feelings, but not me. Nah, I'm not going to stoop to the level of you. I'm going to stand strong and not let your hurtful words bother me. Because at the end of the day, you wrote that out of hate, and hate just isn't something that I will let surround my life. Maybe you wrote it because you were bored, or thought it was funny (in which case, it wasn't), but I'll have you know that there are plenty of ways of filling boredom in your life that don't include writing these kind of messages online. So yeah, keep spewing you hate across this board. Keep thinking that you're accomplishing something with your malice-filled words. But I, for one, will not give you the satisfaction of letting my feelings be hurt. I will take the moral high ground and keep the discussions on this board free of hate. And I will be reporting you to the moderators as well. G'day, anon.

When I was in a really bad place in my life (around 2015) and rewatched the LOTR trilogy many scenes made me cry. The reaction to Gandalf's death probably hit me hardest for some reason. I'm on season 4. It's possibly the best show I've ever watched.
It does a bad job I'd say of presenting itself for the first 2 episodes or so, but keep going and you won't regret it.
>>81696742
Fair enough. I didn't argue for my criticism. I just wanted to give you more insight into what it is that I dislike about it.
The movies biggest flaw is taking the genetic selection and manipulation thing and having EVERYTHING revolve around it. Quick dna checks when entering Nasa, okay fine, but having your lips scanned in a fucking club to see how good the genetic makeup of the chick you just made out with is? That's ridiculous.
You can also make a point about how it's sensible to not let someone with a heart condition on a space ship. Or does he have a heart condition? Was he just at risk? Either way, there's a good point not to root for the protagonist.
Also ridiculous: bringing spare hairs and skin fragments from Jude Law because in this cartoon Nazi world even the trash is scanned for remnants genetic subhumans.
Jude Law committing suicide by incineration made me shake my head, as did the asinine brother subplot. "I didn't save any energy for the way back." Wow, mind blown. What a movie! Go Forrest!
Besides, it seems like the movie pushes an ideology that genetic engineering is inherently bad/leads to an incredibly injust society (slippery slope), which I disagree with.
Feel free to tell me why you liked it. It's been a long time since I watched it and I may be able to appreciate it more or less in the future. I think the acting and the cinematography were good, but the design felt too sterile and artificial - even though that's what they were going for, nothing about the film felt fully realized and thus I couldn't be immersed.

Because I bet you understand living by a warrior code, being involved in fights to death, wars, etc, training every day all the time at the art of the sword, fuck off retarded loser.

And Gandalf saved the world by putting his trust in a Hobbit like Frodo with this plan.
He's based on Odin the Wanderer, who was a sneaky fuck of a god with secret knowledge, wandering the world in disguise affecting things in a subtle way.

It's always the scene where he strokes his wife's cheek and confirms that the mermaid that followed him throughout all his stories was her.
Jesus, I cry.
this scene
>>81685696
This movie had no need to be as good as it was.
In Synecdoche New York when he visits the old girlfriend's house and begs to reconnect with her even though she's so far ahead in life that she barely remembers him. Pathetic stuff like that is what gets me.
>>81686807
The Coens don't usually do much for me emotionally.
But there was a bit in Inside Llewyn Davis that genuinely teared me up.

Inside Llewyn Davis is heads and shoulders my favourite film. You keep expecting him to have a big break but fuck. Teared up when he visited his Dad. If you make it to the end of this film and don't feel anything, fucking kill yourself.

Arise! Arise, Riders of Theoden! Spears shall be shaken, shields shall be splintered! A sword day... a red day... ere the sun rises!
>Eowyn: [to Merry] Whatever happens, stay with me. I'll look after you.

I started to tear up here.
It wasn't until the scene where the actual survivors file past his gravestone when I needed to wipe my eyes on my sleeve.
That was when I realized that most of these survivors have died since the film was made.

more of a long, constant "fuuuuuuuuuuck" than crying for me.
and Charlize Theron's whole character is so great. She's completely convinced that death is preferable to continue living in a world like that. And the fucked up thing is that you as a viewer actually agree with her in a way.

There are so many 10/10 episodes, it's hard to choose.
Personal favorite would probably be 'RAM' (S3E16), the midpoint of season 3 and the whole series. It not only showed crucial background info about Finch's operations, paralleled those of Decima and the ISA, but ties everything in an incredibly climactic way.
The episode had: conclusion to the Ordos affair, how Finch worked before Reese and why he decided to trust him since the pilot episode, , capped off with Shaw's most earliest appearance and Root's side antics. Reese's moral character/why he was perfect for the job was nicely fleshed out.
Any of the season finales, Root Path, If-Then-Else, The Crossing are other worthy contenders.

Fuck off, not even on /tv/ I can escape this;_;
It's probably the music manipulating me, but erry damn time.
Why is it that this music had more emotion put into than the actual scenes from the film?
