How does /tv/ get video files to play on their flat screen? I can't just hook it up straight to my computer, they're in separate rooms. I know there's a media player on PS4 that allows you to take whatever's on your USB and play it, but I'm not a console fag.
Any other suggestions?
Your TV should have a USB slot, check.
Airplay from Mac OS or iOS to AppleTV.
Put files on your USB, plug it into your TV. Your TV should bring up a file manager and I can play videos or view pictures.
You can get a chromecast and stream your PC or chrome, most TV with USB features doesn't support half of good video files or doesn't support extra things like subtitles

or get a smart tv, most of them have Android (thus means have built in chrome cast)
Get a mi TV box
Can you get Plex on an Amazon or Google stick, i don't know?
I'm going to try Plex actually, since I already have Chromecast.

I use it for Mac and PS4 and it's really convenient, you'll probably dig it. You can have it stream to your mobile/tablet too.
use universal media streamer, set up network shares, ps4 picks this up pretty easy with its built in media player
but u dont have a ps4... maybe get one?
