I downloaded the subtitles from subscene and watched it. Still hard to follow even then.

Between my hearing and my crap hardware I have difficulty hearing dialog in normal movies. So I always download subs for everything. But to answer your question, I had a difficult time understanding them. But I still enjoyed the movie.

The point was that there wasn't a standard English dialect where they were, so every family member had their own way of speaking due to having no formal education. You honestly don't even need to understand much of it anyway.
