Nonsense. The comics did not always have adamantium poisoning, nor did the movies. This is why I specifically said it the way I did, the conjuring of a hack writer that had no idea what they were doing.

The adaption is absolutely canon, I even gave you an example of his body adapting. It's not the first time even, poisons, disease, even radiation, he's overcome them, many times, in many stories.

The stupid stoyline of Logan mutating into a monster without the Adamantium skeleton is another example of hack writing.

The part where his healing factor allowed him to adapt to disease, to poison? That's not even science fiction. Normal people adapt. Their immune systems become stronger to fight disease. Snake charmers become less effected by venom after surviving multiple bites. The difference here is that Logan doesn't follow our rules, he has it even better, so his body can adapt to disease and poison even faster, to things that would kill a normal Human being before their body could ever adapt. Again, the storylines where he's survived disease, become immune to it, or where he got poisoned and his body adapted? The stories where he recovers more quickly from being gassed?

All of these things are real, and consistent. Nonsense like adamantium poisoning, or logan turning into a fucking monster, all came later. But his healing factor allowing him to adapt to poisons and disease is long standing, and has been a major plot point in more than one story.

There's various reasons, all different depending on the comic book writer. The one I think makes the most sense is that his powers didn't really manifest until he was fully grown- they started around adolescence and peaked in his prime.

He's not immortal or anything, either. His aging is slowed but he would still eventually die anyways.
