I want them, I need them. Give me your personal favorites. I want to cry, I want to aggravate my depression.

well I don't see a reason why these two states can't occur simultaneously
Wild Strawberries is probably the saddest film I've ever seen

this really is KINO, I can't express how much I love Trier for making this film, probably because I can somewhat relate to the main character. Reprise is also worth watching, highly recommend it.
Dear Zachary
Watching sad films for emotional fulfillment is pretty pretentious and unhealthy, trust me I've been there

>not watching soul wrecking films to better understand your isolated/abused/socially inept state
Embrace the negative emotions my dear friend, escapism is for the weak.

I've a first visit at the psychiatrist in a month so please let me be miserable just this last time

Ultimate bore: The film, how can I relate to this stupid feminist film? What sadness is in it for me?
in addtion it has a retarded ending, fuck Jeanne Dielman

I found this film disturbingly comforting rather than sad. It breaks apart the human experience so much, that how you read into it depends on what you want to emotionally bring out of it
As for sad films, Synecdoche, NY fucks me up each time I see it. I haven't seen much Italian neorealism, but judging from Umberto D. and Germany Year Zero, it seems pretty gut-punchingly depressing -- fun stuff!
