this movie was really pretty and had great sound effects but that's about it. Truly a mediocre, uninspired cash grab.

Western animation has so much more budget and manpower, but everything looks clunky, kiddish and like bloops of over saturated colour.

You're focusing on the wrong things when you use the medium of film to throw up pretty paintings of so common motiffs. That seems to be a flaw on the audience part though, people won't notice "aesthetics" unless they're shoved down their throats like the director making a scene just to show his ego. I didn't find the film poignant, because story and characters took the backseat to an art exhibition. Art makes you feel things, and if you have a series of pictures in a movie you can use them together in a harmonius way, not just throw them at random and expect the audience to like it because they're told to.
It's also a massive waste of money the amount of unnecessary animation in this film.
