You can be but it's unlikely.
>>
una
>>
not really, it's always been the fedora's favorite
>>
>>81589226
how many unnecessary foot scenes does it have
>>
>>81589226
It's the best if you don't count True Romance.
>>
>>81589615
I feel like it's the least "fedora." It's his only film where the characters & the story are more important than concept & style. It's his least important film, but the most re-watchable.
>>
I get the feeling that Jackie Brown is tarantula's attempt at growing as an artist and taking some risks after Pulp Fiction. It bombed horribly with audiences and he was like, "fuck that! I'm never gonna do that again!" And so he became the director that we're familiar with today.

>>81589649
Not nearly enough.

The only reason it bombed is people were too weirded out after all the footshit in the opening 5 minutes and they couldn't take their minds off it for the rest of the movie

even though pulp fiction talked about feet in the opening, they didn't drop the footography until like an hour in

It's easily Tarantino's worst film.
>>
Jackie Brown is the best one because it's based on a book Tarantino didn't write. That really helps.
>>
1. Jackie Brown
2. Inglourious Basterds
3. Resevoir Dogs
4. Pulp Fiction
5. Kill Bill 1
6. Django Unchained

you have to go back
>>
>>81589226
It's the favorite among people who pretend to be smart. You'll see them talk about how "mature" it is and shit.

Death Proof is the patrician's choice.
>>
>>81590576
>Death Proof
>If everyone else says it's the worst, it must be the best
this schtick is getting predictable. Kurt Russell is good and the girls are hot, but that is a 10-minute short stretched out to oblivion with endless pointless dialogue
>>
>>81589226
1. pulp fiction

the rest are bad and yes ive seen all of them
>>
>>81589226
No, it's a comfy as fuck movie from before he stopped going over the top to appeal to teenagers.
>>
It's widely accepted as the second best after Reservoir Dogs.

BASED TARANTINO

>stretched out to oblivion with endless pointless dialogue

The dialogue in Death Proof is one of the reasons that movie is top tarantino.
The ambient that Tarantino is able to create at the bar is superb. But obviously it wont captivate people that never had a night like that in their lives, a night out at a comfy bar just talking to your friends, having fun, just letting the night flow.
For me it brings nostalgia of such nights I had.
But that's just one thing great about it.
Then, there are dumb bitches, femenazis, fucking prime MEW, feet, THICC lapdance, car crash gore and...
ONE OF THE FUCKING BEST CAR CHASES IN CINEMA, a true homage to classics such as Vanishing Point and gone in 60 seconds(the original of course).

For me it's only trumped by Inglorious Basterds because in IB he actually did a bar scene as well and manage to fit elements to it that make it necessary for the plot and character development.
>>
I'm reading The Switch by Elmore Leonard right now and it has the Louis, Ordell and Melanie characters before the events in Jackie Brown. I'm picturing them all as the actors in Jackie Brown, too. :/
>>
>>81590420

Please. Death Proof, Django are both far worse.

Jackie Brown is actually a very good film.

lmao

i have nights like that, i don't need to watch a fucking movie to experience it

The Kill Bill duology is Tarantino's masterpiece.

It was the logical conclusion of his directorial homage style coupled with his trademark nonlinear storytelling.

It's his most visually striking and it's the last one he actually tried his best on.
>>
>>81589226
My favorite is Inglorious Basterds but I always liked Jackie Brown.

In fact I like most Tarantino movies I just hate the man himself because he's a pretentious douchebag who wants so bad to be black

I agree anon

>>81591921
the only thing good about kb1 is the animation sequence

the rest of it is kind of a wankfest. kb2 is pure TarenKINO though
>>
Kill Bill is the moment Tarantino went full Tarantino and he never recovered from it.

Also the movies are ok at best.
>>
>>81591905
No it isn't.

Both are very different experiences that cover up the flaws of the other, they complement eachother quite well.

Kill Bill part 1 wouldn't have the pure archetypal appeal and constant visual power if he spread the slow character stuff between the two.

Similarly, the restrained power of the grave scene and the climax of Part 2 wouldn't be nearly as astounding if it was alongside the over the top arthouse action of part 1. The intensity of the first installment translates into a more subtle and powerful part 2.

From Dusk Till Dawn is my favorite.
>>
>>81590617
Nah man. Death Proof is the highlight reel. Two of Tarantino's best dialogue scenes each finished off with a spectacular action scene. Pure uncut Tarankino.
>>
>>81591298
What a weird reason to like both movies. Okay though.
>>
>>81592171
Not a direct remake though. Tarantino's screenplay for Reservoir Dogs is still his own.
>>
>no Four Rooms

Plebs.
