It just occurred to me that this entire franchise is about a lazy guy that gave up everytime he won but when he lost he would get mad and get back into shape and win again only to give up and lose again. And this basically just kept happening over and over again.
Art imitating life.

he lost in the first movie.

Yea but after that he would just give up. He got his ass kicked by clubber lang. got his ass kicked by the kid that he trained. would have gotten his ass kicked for sure against the russian guy but mick died so he got back in shape.

Rocky has no interest lingering around and continuously beating people who are weaker than him.

>Yea but
AH BUBUBUBUBUBUBU!
Time to let go, sweetums.

He didn't "give up" he just had nothing left to prove and retired. And like Rambo, things kept happening that prevented him from living the life he wanted

Actually Paulie fucked them over after his victory in 4. Presumably he would have retired rich and comfortable.
well yeah it's a movie a boxer
>>81541414
so rocky 3 was the entire rocky franchise for you?
>>81541573
Mick carried him most of the time. He even tells him that in rocky 3 i think. Rocky could only fight if there was some dramatic emotional reason to fight. Like mick dying or his friend appollo getting killed.

literally nobody dislikes these films

He might have been done with boxing but boxing wasn't done with him.
